Poker chip set FAQ

How many poker chips do I need?

For a typical home game, plan on 50–75 chips per player: a 300-chip set comfortably covers 4–6 players and a 500-chip set covers 7–10. Our default breakdown follows standard poker practice — the bulk of the set in $1 and $5 chips, with fewer $25 and $100 chips for the big stacks.

What comes in a ChipLab poker chip set?

Every set includes your custom-printed chips (100, 300 or 500), a poker chip case sized to the set, Virgolone plastic playing cards, and a Texas Hold’em dealer button set with big and small blind buttons.

Can I choose my own colors and denominations?

Yes. Each chip color carries its standard poker denomination — white $1, red $5, blue $10, green $25, black $100 and more. You can add or remove colors and adjust quantities in rolls of 25 chips, up to 10 colors per set.

What is the difference between composite and clay chips?

Composite chips (11.5g) have the largest print area and are our go-to for events and promotions. Clay chips (13.5g) are casino-weight with a softer feel and tighter tolerances — the better choice for serious play. Both are printed on both sides and UV-sealed in Centennial, Colorado.

How long does a custom poker set take?

Sets are printed to order in Centennial, Colorado. You approve a free online proof before we print, and most sets ship within a week of proof approval.
